About Tracey Tabet …

As the administrator for the Utah Children’s Justice Center Program, Tracey Tabet oversees the state’s 15 Children’s Justice Centers, which provide a friendly, homelike atmosphere designed to help children feel safe and comfortable while they are being interviewed regarding alleged abuse. Last year close to 5,000 children were interviewed at Utah’s centers. Tracey also serves as the

coordinator for the Utah Chapter of the National Children’s Alliance, the national membership organization that promotes a comprehensive, coordinated response to victims of child abuse through the advocacy/justice center model.

The program housed in the Utah Attorney General’s Office, where Tracey has worked since 1994. She served as Deputy Chief of Staff for former Attorney General Jan Graham and helped developed several initiatives on domestic violence, gang prevention, and Internet safety. She has worked closely with elected leaders and community advocates to promote more resources for victims, better training for law enforcement, and stronger criminal penalties for perpetrators. She served for eight years on the Utah Coalition Against Sexual Assault Board of Trustees and currently serves on the Governor’s Sexual Violence Council.

A graduate of the University of Utah and Westminster College, Tracey has a Masters Degree in Communication, as well as degrees in public relations and sociology. She also freelances as a political consultant and serves on the Holladay City Arts Council.
