Our speaker on  December 2nd is  Justin Anderson, who is the Director of Marketing for the Utah Youth Village. The Village is a non-profit organization that has served at risk youth in Utah for many years. They have special facilities and professionals that help young people recover from many types of issues (drug abuse, behavioral problems etc...) and they fulfill a need in the community that sadly just doesn't go away.

Annually they have sponsored and coordinated a Sub for Santa program the meets the needs of many families that cannot provide Christmas for their children. For years they have helped coordinate community efforts that have helped over a 100 kids per year (many of them in group homes or other types of non-traditional family settings) and the need just keeps getting larger. Justin will primarily describe what the Village is doing this year and how important to the children this season is. We want to encourage each Kiwanis member to either commit to providing Christmas for one or more children ($100 donation, tax deductible per child) or to come prepared to write a check for the donation payable to the Utah Youth Village.

This is a great way to enjoy the Christmas season by sharing with those in need. All funds go directly to providing for the children's gifts (no administrative costs at all!) and you can gain great satisfaction by helping out. Get it the Spirit -- Get Involved and Participate with us!!
